McCLELLAND, EVERS & ChRISTIE

Many pundits had all but given the tournament title to one of these three anglers , because of their proximity to the lake and their history on the body of water as well. Mike McClelland of Bella Vista, ark., edwin evers of talala, okla., and Jason Christie of Park Hill, okla. were all expected to challenge for the win. McClelland had won an elite Series even in 2006 and is a known expert with a jerkbait, which was expected to be a top technique for the event. evers is also an elite Series winner and is known for his versatility. Because of that and his address he was expected to do well. Christie was perhaps the heaviest favorite; because he is known to excel on the lake in the pre-spawn and because of his cool customer mentality. McClelland would finish fifth, Christie would finish seventh and evers a disappointing 25th.
