JIMMY HOUSTON

At age 72, Jimmy Houston, of Cookson, Okla. holds a resume that stretches through most disciplines of the bass fishing industry including tournament angler, author, presenter, manufacturer rep, tackle designer and television host. He is known one of the hardest working pros in the country. Since winning the Oklahoma State Championship as a college senior in 1966, Houston has won over a million dollars in bass tournaments. He has fished 15 Bassmaster Classics and claimed the B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year title in both 1976 and 1986. A legendary angler, Houston was inducted in to the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in 1990, the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2002, the IGFA Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame and the Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Okla- homa Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. This year, Houston celebrated his 50th year of fishing national tournaments and is known as “America’s Favorite Fisherman. He is in his 40th year on national television and for 20 years, Jimmy Houston Outdoors was consistently ranked as the #1 outdoor show on ESPN. Houston has written five books including Caught Me a Big’un which was a #1 selling fish- ing book. Hooked for Life and The Reel Line are spiritual and inspirational collections taken from fishing situations. His latest book, Catch of the Day, is a 365 day daily devotional built around fishing tips, tales, and events. An updated Catch of the Day was released in 2012. His wife of 52-years, Chris, is one of America’s top female bass anglers. Chris won seven Bass-N-Gal Anger of the Year titles and three Bass-N-Gal Classics. Chris was named to the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2005, the only woman named to this Bass

Fishing Hall of Fame to date.
