Spring 2026
G-Ratt has its own version. It’s a large 13-inch bait that looks incredible and swims perfectly. One downside to the other baits, especially the Japanese versions, is that they can be hard to find, which was one reason G-Ratt decided to make their own so they would be more readily available to American anglers.
The bait will come with two different hooks, a smaller hook for bass fishing and a larger version if you want to try it out for stripers or big saltwater fish. One unique thing about this bait is that it was designed to be fished at all speeds, and it will even work with a very high- speed retrieve without rolling, or you can slow it down and get it to slow roll, or have a steady, natural-looking swimming action with a normal retrieve.
A NEW MINNOW AND A “FUZZY” BAIT ON THE WAY?
Forward-facing sonar continues to dominate bass fishing, and companies have taken notice of many different jighead and minnow designs for fishing this way. G-Ratt has a new minnow called “The Rocker” that, as the name implies, easily rocks from side to side. It’s a spin-off of the popular Thin Swim paddletail swimbait
they already make, but it has a single tail that quivers with any shake of the rod.
The bait is made of a soft and durable plastic with a TPE material, so you can catch multiple fish with one bait and still get a great action. All the colors are very lifelike and designed to match various forage species, and the bait is infused with a long-lasting squid scent for added appeal. It’s available in two sizes, a 4-inch and a 5-inch bait.
ICAST 2025 was all about the fuzzy baits, and many
companies had their own
versions. While still early in
the prototype phase, G-Ratt
showed off a design they
were working on. It’s said
that it may be available in a
limited, small batch initially,
and they will go from there.
G-Ratt Baits continues to add baits, and while they are known for their glide baits and unique lures like the weedless vibrating jig, they are now adding even more soft plastics and other lures that fill the gaps. Their excellent glide baits improved with new colors and a redesigned look and feel. •
