1 ® items every
bass fisherman
should keep in
their boat
By Glenn Walker
A
n angler would never leave the dock without
their tackle box or rod and reels…well most
likely. Besides having the key pieces of tackle and gear needed to catch fish on a fishing trip, but more
than just gear there are some key essentials that when
onboard can help enhance an angler’s trip.
By thinking ahead and being prepared for situations
you may face on the water, an angler can have the needed
items to fix an issue that arises or avoid it all together. So,
as you look to spend more time on the water in 2024, it
begins by being prepared and these 10 items are ones that
should be always in your boat.
SPARE PROP
Boat control is vital for anglers to be successful on the water and as bass fisherman we rely on our bow mount trolling motor. An angler can do everything in his power to make sure his batteries are charged, and their trolling motor is in prime working order, but once you leave the garage and are on the water, that all goes out the window.
To be able to salvage a day of fishing and not be left at the mercy of the wind or current to fish, I always carry a spare prop for my Minn Kota Ultrex, along with extra fuses, rope for your handle or replacement cable kit, and sheer pins. All these items are small but will keep your trolling motor working for you.
