uch of the bass fishing content on the

Internet revolves around techniques, seasonal

patterns, and selecting the right lures and gear. It’s all helpful information that allows anglers to be

successful on the water, but some other keys are not often

covered.

One of the most overlooked is fishing sunglasses,

specifically how you can use them to help based on different

water clarities and weather conditions.

Most would agree that quality sunglasses are a must

as they are truly your “eyes” to see what is beneath the

surface. But, beyond just picking a good pair, the lens colors

can significantly impact your ability to see everything. This,

in turn, can lead to being more efficient on the water and

can also lead to more fish catches in a day.

Sunglass brand Bajío not only makes a wide variety of

frames for any face size and individual style, but they also

have seven different lens options to choose from.

Here’s a rundown of the different hues and how they

can be applied to your bass fishing.

BLUE MIRROR / GREY BASE

Shiny blue lenses are a staple in the fishing world, especially in the offshore saltwater world. They are so popular there because of how well they protect the eyes from bright sunshine and the reflective sheen from the

open water. They are darker than most lenses and the darkest lens that Bajío offers. This makes them ideal for bright conditions.

For anglers who fish offshore when bass fishing, they are a solid choice. They are also excellent for anglers from Florida to western desert lakes in sunny climates that get more than their fair share of sunny days.

GREEN MIRROR / BROWN BASE

Moving down the darkness scale one notch, the green mirror lenses are still reasonably dark, but let a little more light in. These lenses are genuinely a tint that can just about do it all.

Anglers who rely on these lenses use them because they are incredibly versatile and will allow great vision of shallow fish and underwater structure and cover. Green Mirror is so popular because they are adaptable to sight fishing and sunny conditions.

SILVER MIRROR / COPPER BASE

These lenses have a nice, brightly mirrored finish and the copper base gives them a great mix. They excel in both low light and sunny conditions, making them a good choice for someone looking for just one pair to fit a variety of situations.
