post spawn
T
he post spawn bite is known for being tough. Re-
gardless of what types of water you fish, many of
the larger fish seem to vanish after spawning is
complete. The bite seemingly slows down and visu- ally spotting giants in shallow water turns to visions of smaller
fish. However, a couple of alterations will help you load the
boat with bigger fish and more opportunities to share them
with your friends, family and competitors.
On river systems, the key may be finding structure
near the main channel. Humps, underwater logs
and other key areas will generally hold these post
spawn bass for weeks to come.
