road; but I always enjoy fishing “at home”. Schedules have allowed me to do that more through the past couple of years and since I’ve been here, I’ve noticed a change.

The biggest difference to me is how anglers are reacting to other anglers on the water. In many instances, it seems like courtesy is forgotten.

GIVE PROPER SPACE

I understand that we’re all passionate about fishing and we have that drive to not just compete; but to win and that drive to compete makes us work hard and try out best to win. What I am sorry to see is when that can consume an angler so much so that the common courtesy for their fellow angler can be overlooked.

Last year, I had multiple instances of being blatantly cut-off.

I understand that there are banks that everyone wants to fish or places that you go, and someone is already there, and you still want to find away to work around them. That is fine; but we all have to be respectful. It’s not cool to pull up to a boat, within two casts of a guy and cut him off.

FIND YOUR OWN FISH

To win tournaments, you need to find your own fish. Again, this comes down to respect.

It’s not cool to drive by an angler on plane, notice he is reeling one in and turn around and come up on him and start fishing there, trying to catch his fish.

That disruption can spook fish and cost an angler their tournament. If you we’re passing a location, don’t turn around just because you got a look at what or where another angler was fishing.
