alifornia pro Ish Monroe has been traveling the

country as a competitive angler for many years.

He competed as part of the B.A.S.S. Top 150 as far back as 1998, the Bassmaster Elite 50 #1 in 2004, qualified for

his first Bassmaster Classic in 2003. He currently competes on

the Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour.

His decades on the road and participation in organized

tournament fishing from coast to coast has given him a

perspective that many bass anglers aren’t privy to.

This past season he participated in the Wild West Bass Trail Pro/Am Series, and he has been invited to the West’s newest pro angler circuit APEX Pro Tour. With this, he has had more time on the water in his home state as well as the West in general.

Monroe wanted to share some of his thoughts on fishing in the West. Here he is in his own words.
