StructureScan on steroids. Even 3D images of the bottom as far away as 300 ft from the boat are clear. Shallow water distance from the boat is greatly improved over previous technology.
Waypoints are displayed on the StructureScan 3D screen so you can see your spot on the spot. The 3D visual perspective of your waypoint helps to explain why it is special, and allows you to find similar locations as you view other spots. When you find another good spot, such as a rock pile, touch the screen to apply the cursor to the structure and you can save a new waypoint exactly on the rock pile. The 3D perspective also allows you to consider different boat positions and casting angles to maximize lure coverage of key structure or cover. The pan-tilt-rotate control aids in analyzing approaches and angles in three dimensions.
earlier LSS-1, the module installs in the exact footprint of the earlier StructureScan models. Also included is a power cable, which is interchangeable with earlier models, making installation quick and easy. A 15-ft Ethernet cable is included for connection between the module and the HDS Gen3 unit. The 3D transducer is also included. The module has two extra Ethernet connections (three total) for networking with additional HDS units.
The 3D transducer is large by necessity, and comes with Lowrance’s mounting bracket. Transducer Shield and Saver (www.transducershieldandsaver. com) makes custom mounts for those who want additional mounting options. These custom, top- quality, machined aircraft aluminum mounts provide added security and protection that looks as good as they are strong.
