most likely get hung up on. If you’re getting snagged, use a weed-guard but if you can get away without one, even better.

FLIPPING JIG-HEAD

Flipping jigs are also known as an Arkie head. They have a cupped-shape, so it skips, planes and stays up right for the most part while fishing. It is vital in fishing jigs to keep the hook up and over the cover, instead of sideways or down in the cover.

You can’t hook fish if you’re hooked into cover. These jigs are easily flipped into all types of cover, under docks, through vegetation, around lay-downs. They can also be skipped under docks or cables. For fish holding tight to cover or suspended under docks, I like a lighter flipping jig, because I can get it into smaller, hard to get to places, and it falls slowly. Most often, you are going to want a weed-guard with flipping jigs. These are great ways to fish weed pockets and heavy shoreline cover.

ROUND BALL JIG-HEAD

This is more of a finesse style jig, typically used in ultra clear, rocky reservoirs. The round head keeps the profile very narrow and natural looking. It’s a great universal jig, because it has a wide range of weight, you can cast it with ease, flip it around cover, skip it under docks and fish rocky banks.

One of the more popular ways to fish them is to do a hop and swim type retrieve along the bottom. When you do this, you should make a long cast and then let the jig rest on the bottom for a few seconds.
