Bassmaster Elite Series Pro Randy Howell on the Road

Lessons Learned in the 2018 Season with Randy Howell

HIATUS - MLF AND ICAST

With a break in the schedule, I

fished a Major League Fishing Select

event and attended ICAST.

It was the best show I had seen

in a long time. The overall morale

of the industry was up. It had been

down over the last several years; so,

it’s good to see it on the upswing this

year. Especially with the growth of the

high school and college Tournaments.

I enjoyed working with my sponsors,

featuring these new products:

Tatula 100: Daiwa released the new

Scales at ICAST

Tatula 100 baitcast reels this year. I feel like they should’ve won Best in Show

Daiwa designs at ICAST

for that reel. I really encourage everyone to give it a try. It is the

best, lightest reel that I’ve ever used for the price of 159.95 It is

a standout item from Daiwa.

Tatula Universal: Daiwa also introduced my new rod – a

Tatula Elite 7’2”, medium-heavy universal rod. I’ve been using

it all year. It is a great all around combo paired with the Tatula

100 reel.

Hybrid Swimbait: Livingston Lures introduced a couple

of crankbaits and a small, hybrid swimbait that we call the

Slingshot. It is a cross between a lipless crankbait and a

swimbait. It will be a great limit

getter in the future!

Rain Suits: Frogg Toggs

Daiwa Press Conference at ICAST

introduced some Pro Series rain

suits for release in 2019 to go along

with our Prym1 camo suits.

Freshwater Apparel: We’ve been working with Scales gear the

past two years with saltwater gear;

so, we were proud to help introduce

the

side of

line. They

have a big

lifestyle

lineup; but

me, my

wife and

my boys

taglines,

shirts with different generations of

fishermen’s slang in mind. This was one of

the highlights, as well. Check them out at
