12-inch HDS units mounted at the console and two of those same 1- inch screens mounted at the bow. I thought that was a little overkill, but wanted to see what it was like before I commented on that set up professionally.
Bass Boat Technologies has single and double dash and bow mounts. After careful consideration, I now have a double electronics mount at the dash and a double mount at the bow.
What I have found is this set up is not overkill at all. It is practical and functional at the same time. I have an LSS-2 and StructureScan ® 3D transducers mounted at the stern of the boat. I have the double dash mount with a Lowrance-12 Gen3 on one side and an HDS-9 Carbon on the other side. I have an HDS-12 Carbon on the way to replace the 9-inch screen after seeing what this set up was like.
I have the HDS-12 Gen3 on a split screen. One side is a Chart screen and the other is Broadband Sonar, which is your fish finding sonar. On the Carbon unit, I have both Lowrance StructureScan ® transducers plugged in.
The Carbon units have dual core processors and can run and read two separate transducers at the same time. This way I can see the left and right or DownScan Imaging™ on one half of the screen and the StructureScan ® 3D on the other half of the screen.
With the 12-inch screens split in two, I have large enough panes to view the detail very easily. The nice thing about this mount is having two 12-inch screens on this mount. I can see over them with no problem and they are lifted just enough to see the whole screen without the steering wheel blocking any of the screen.
At the bow, I have a dual mount there also. The console mount has the two 12-inch units side by side. The bow mount has the two units stacked one on top and the other below. This set up does not interfere with the operation of the trolling motor and can be easily seen while fishing.
I am 62 years old now and my eyes are not what they used to be so having the two 12-inch screens on the front deck, with split screen, I can see the detail even when I am standing 6- or 8-feet away, while fishing.
I like to fish offshore structure a lot; so, I have one of the 12’s on a full Chart screen. On the other HDS-

12 Gen3, I have a split screen with Broadband sonar on one side and DownScan or StructureScan ® on the other. I have the best view of the bottom with this selection of screens in my opinion. I must mention that I have an HDI transducer on my Motor Guide trolling motor, which gives me the Broadband Sonar picture and the DownScan picture.

Above is a picture of the transducer and the transducer mount I use. This is a great way to get both sonar types on one unit up front. If you have any questions about this set up, please post your questions on the Lowrance Forum on this website and I will be along every few days to answer them.
I have already been asked, “Where do I find the Bass Boat Technologies mounts you talk about?
Go to www.bassboattech.com and select your boat make and model and get the easiest mount to install and the best one to view your electronics on.
God Bless you all!
