as hard, plus i get more control with the braid and it is a good strike indicator. also, i know the fluoro leader is a key to more bites.”

For fall, Meyer likes any basic shad pattern for his lure. “ayu is always a good choice,” he stated. Changing his hooks before tying on, Meyer goes for the owner 4X Saltwater hooks. “These are really strong hooks, but don’t add any weight to the lure,” said Meyer. “You don’t want to add hooks that are heavier than the originals and throw off the balance. i will put a size bigger in the front than is in the back of the bait.” He adds a snap ring or split ring to the line tie for more action and always ensure that the lure is running true prior to casting for a fish. “a quick adjustment is easy with a pair of pliers on the line tie,” he added. “if the lure is running right, tune it left and tune right, if it is running to the right.”
