need be in sheltered areas without current. Bass try to spawn in areas that have calm water. once you find the warmer banks, now it is time to look at weather patterns. With today’s technology smartphones, computers and the nightly news you have a variety of ways to get a seven day forecast. With this information, you are looking for consistency of weather, three days in a row is a good rule of thumb. i have had some of my best days in the nastiest weather in spring; but day in and day out - consistent weather makes for consistent fishing.

In my experience, before the storm is always better than after the storm. You know, even during the storm can be better than after the storm. i have fished in

3-foot waves, tossing a spinner bait and have caught a 30-lb bag many times. The key is to be in the right area and the weather timed.

Now that we have gotten that out of the way, what should we throw? Before we get into that - what is the clarity of the water, what is the main food source that the bass feed on?
