n a bass fishing world dominated by a jighead
and a minnow, popular hard bait brand Yo-
Zuri has continued to do what they do best and make great bass lures. At ICAST, they showcased
several revamped lures and improved their popular
braided line, SuperBraid. They also added many new
color choices for their most popular lures.
Here’s a closer look at what’s new from the folks at Yo-Zuri.
ONE MORE STRAND TO SUPERBRAID
Braided line has never been more popular, and it continues to get better and better. Yo-Zuri’s SuperBraid was already a top choice for many bass anglers, but they improved it with one extra strand. Instead of being an 8-strand braid, it’s now a 9-strand version that promises to be even smoother and better performing.
SuperBraid 9 comes in four spool sizes: 150-, 300-, and 300-yards for dark green and white for a low and high-visibility option. A bulk spool of 330- yard spool is a five-color version that changes every 10 meters. The color changes from blue to red, orange to green, and finally to pink.
It’s also available in many sizes, from 8- to 100-pound tests. The main difference between this and the previous version is that the extra strand
makes the braid more durable, has better abrasion resistance, and allows for more sensitivity.
The original SuperBraid is still being made, and they’ve added a yellow and dark green color option.
MEET THE PRO SERIES
Yo-Zuri also unveiled a new lineup of lures called the Pro Series with a unique hologram lip on some of the hard baits and a tungsten and magnet weight transfer system for better casting distance and accuracy. The finishes are also top-notch, and a triple coat is used for better durability and to keep the color longer.
Included in this new lineup are the Pro Jerkbait 110 (dives 5 to 7-feet) and Pro Jerkbait 110 Mid (dives to 7 to 8-feet), which each come in some great-looking colors, including some with the unique hologram lip for more flash.
A new Pro Popper will also be available in eye- catching colors and excellent matte finishes. The Pro Shad is a shad-profiled crankbait in two sizes (1/4 and 3/8-ounce) and some great colors, including some with the hologram lip for a different look from your crankbait.
For the big bait fans, the Pro Glide Bait is a slow- sinking 7-inch bait that weighs 2 5/8-ounces. It has a great look, similar to the old Duel Hardcore Glide made several years ago. The colors include several trout, bluegill, and shad hues to match the hatch for your fishery.
