13 Fishing is a brand that makes some great rods and reels, plus top-quality accessories, apparel, and baits. They have become very popular for their stylish, functional gear that’s incredibly packed with features and top-notch components.
Last year, they unveiled a host of new reels and a rod and reel lineup designed by professional angler Gerald Swindle and several other nice options. Those Meta rods and Inception G2 reels designed by Swindle are now available everywhere, but this year’s big news is the revamped Muse Black line of rods. The original was very popular and they’ve made them even better.
A REDESIGNED MUSE ROD LINEUP
New for this year is the Muse Black II, the second version in the Muse Black line. They are very much like JDM rods and packed with great features like Japanese 40-ton Toray graphite, premium Japanese EVA split grip handles, and Fuji K Frame guides. They are well-built and also feature a 7-year warranty.
While 13 Fishing has rods and reels at just about everyone’s budget, the new Muse II fits somewhere
right in the middle and the retail price for the rods is between $225 and $265 each, depending on the length and model.
These are sleek rods with great cosmetics, but they are also very light and sensitive and the actions were dialed in by the 13 Fishing design team and the top-level professional anglers on their pro staff, which includes Bassmaster Elite Series pros Chris Zaldain and Kyle Welcher. These rods are well balanced and have 13 Fishing’s exclusive Snaggle Tooth keeper for securing your baits in the perfect position. Another feature of the new rods is the custom Evolve soft touch reel seats that look great and have a soft, comfortable feel – unlike many rods on the market.
The casting rods include eight different models; for spinning, there are five to choose from that will cover all your bases. Also included in the line are some heavy-duty models. The HD line has a 7-foot, 9-inch heavy, 7-foot, 10-inch, and 8-foot extra heavy models, which are all great for punching and throwing big baits.
The team at 13 Fishing has been busy revamping one of their most popular rod lineups, the Muse Black. The second version is the best yet and if you liked the first generation, you’ll love what they did to the new version.
