ver the years, Yamamoto Baits has

become one of the most popular

brands of soft plastic lures for bass anglers because of huge successes like the

Senko, Hula Grub, Zako, and many more.

Their collection of baits has caught endless

amounts of bass, and those classics still work

great, but there are five new baits from the

famed brand that they just recently released.

You can rig each of them in several ways,

and all are well-suited for winter fishing.

MULTI-USE FOR NEW SHAD SHAPE WORM SIZES

The Shad Shape worm has been a staple for drop-shot anglers everywhere and it started the moment they released the bait. It’s a great baitfish imitator with excellent softness and action, making it the perfect drop-shot bait, especially for spotted and smallmouth bass, but largemouth love them, too. The original is a 4-inch size and there are now two more options, one smaller and one larger.

The 3-inch bait is a condensed version with the same great action and profile as the bigger version. When fishing during the colder months, the smaller bait excels for fish that are less active and generally more finicky or chasing smaller baitfish that hatched during the spring months.

The larger 5-inch version has the same profile as the others, but the bait is not only an inch longer - it’s also much bulkier. One unique thing about it is the addition of Yamamoto’s Mega Floater Formula plastic which allows the bait to have excellent buoyancy on a drop-shot rig or any other way you choose to fish it.

While the primary use for anglers will likely be as a drop-shot bait, it doubles as a trailer and for the popular
