My favorite baits to use are topwater, swimbaits (big and small), and crankbaits. But there are times when it can be applied to lures that sink quickly and some bottom fishing techniques as well. It’s just something that takes a little experimentation to get the hang of.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I believe many anglers incorporate this technique already, either purposefully or by chance.
It is a great way to turn a decent cast into a great cast with just a little repositioning of the boat. But, most importantly just bringing it into focus and taking advantage of an opportunity to boat mend will lead to more fish catches. •
