uring the wintertime, fishing can be feast or

famine. There are many productive fishing

techniques that work through the colder months, such as spooning, football jigs, dart head worms,

tubes, dropshots, Carolina rigs, A-rigs, ball head swimmers,

ripbaits and crankbaits – just to mention a few.

Even with the many options, every angler has their

favorites. Kayak Pro Tour angler Tas Moua and I talked

about ours and came up with a similar list. Here’s how it

ended up.

For me there is the spoon, the jig, and the A-rig. Tas’ choices are nearly the same as mine. He lists his as the spoon, the finesse jig, and the tube.

SPOON THE BAIT CHASERS

Everyone has heard about those 100 fish days. Well, don’t tell anyone but, a spoon is a lure that can easily catch 100 fish in a day. I get started with my electronics to locate bass chasing bait. I use down imaging and Panoptic to help stay on those fish.
