Being that these banks seem endless and they vary in depth, I will keep two rods on my deck rigged with the same or similar crankbait.

Regardless of what reason the bass have moved up, do not overlook how shallow they may be. If there is food and cover up shallow, bass may be there!
To cover shallow water, I will begin by fishing a square- billed crankbait and run it parallel to the rocky shorelines and make sure the bait comes into contact with the chunk rock or laydowns that line the bank.
The new BOOYAH XCS Series has hooks that ride up against the body of the bait so it less prone to snagging up.
THE DIFFERENCE?
The difference is the two
types of line the bait is tied
to. One of the rods will have
12-pound Seaguar AbrazX
fluorocarbon. I will use to
garner additional depth as
fluorocarbon sinks and the
smaller diameter line will aid
in the bait running deeper.
The other rod-reel set
up will still have AbrazX, but
I will upsize the line to 15- to
17-pound-test. I use this
to keep the shallow running crankbait up in the water column and so it doesn’t dive down and get hung in the cover.
ZONING IN
Once I locate hard targets to flip, I’ll alternate between a 1/2-ounce All-Terrain Tackle AT Jig with a Zoom Super Chunk trailer and a
