hrough the change of the seasons and the

change of the circuits, we’re back on the road

with Randy Howell. We last checked in with the Bassmaster Classic champ as he was home with his family,

getting ready for his son Laker’s first BFL event and the Elite

Series was heading into the St. Lawrence river.

FIRST THE BFL

My son Laker is 17-years-old and he fished his first BFL tournament this year. I was really proud of him. It was like it all came full circle as the BFL is where I got my start when I was 16. This was his first individual tournament. Before this, he had fished high school tournaments with me as his boat captain; but, this was his first one to take the boat and do his own thing for two days on Guntersville.

He even practiced on his own. I didn’t help him a bit. He did really good, made the 20-cut and finished 7th on the last day. It was his first check in a real tournament – other than
