Hi All,
As summer settles across the West Coast, bass anglers are entering one of the most exciting and challenging periods of the year. For many, summer means topwater explosions at dawn, offshore structure fishing during the heat of the day, and evening bites that can produce some of the biggest fish of the year.
Beyond the fishing itself, summer offers an opportunity to introduce new anglers to the sport. The extra long daylight hours and more stable weather create ideal conditions for family outings, youth fishing programs, and helping the next generation develop a lifelong appreciation for our fisheries and natural resources.
Whether you’re chasing giant largemouth in California’s reservoir systems, targeting aggressive smallmouth in Pacific Northwest waters, or simply enjoying an evening bite at your local lake, summer offers countless opportunities to create memorable days on the water.
Next month we are off to Orlando to visit the 2026 iCast sport fishing show. I have several meeting with our advertisers and looking forward to seeing new products that will be available this fall. I also look forward to seeing many friends and business associates that I have meet through the years and remanence old times!
On behalf of our entire editorial team, thank you for supporting WesternBass and please remember to support the advertisers that make our site, forums, and this magazine possible.
Tight Lines, Wayne
