Hard: The hard baits I find myself going to day in and day out are crankbaits and ripbaits. Once again, the variety is endless and some experimentation is necessary to determine which ones will work best.

Finally, when all surface activity has come to a grinding halt and the subsurface action has ceased, a finesse presentation will continue to put fish in the boat.
My number one go-to under these conditions in a dropshot. A light weight and a small shad patterned plastic can be deadly on fish that refuse to feed aggressively.
DON’T FORGET
When you know that the bass are feeding on shad; but you can’t seem to locate them, an A-rig is a great tool to find fish. If they are targeting balls of bait why not fish with one?
All these techniques can be adjusted and experimented with. It is our job as anglers to make the proper adjustments on the water to put as many fish in the boat each day. •
