Spotlight on two of our western fishermen (Randy
Pierson and Austin Wilson) that fished their way into the national circuits.
In this issue, we follow-up on one those spotlight
anglers – Randy Pierson of Oakdale, Calif. as one of his first
launches into the big leagues, he
was thrust into the mainstage
of the Bassmaster Classic. We
would liken it to going from
college playoffs to the Super
Bowl – quite an experience.
Qualifying to fish the
Bassmaster Classic is a dream of
bass fishermen everywhere. The
chances are that if you have ever
competed in a bass tournament,
you have spent at least a few
moments thinking about what it
would be like to fish the biggest
bass tournament in the world.
The vast majority of those
dreams never come true, but for
Pierson they did. According to
Pierson it was even better than
he had imagined. Here is what
he had to say about the process.
AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE
The Classic has been Pierson’s dream for years and being from the west coast, it always seemed like a long shot to him, but it just happened.
