Bass are brawlers, so most of us gear up to win the fight. But, can you win if you must resort to 6-pound test line just to get a bite? Take a lesson from IGFA line-class record holders and put the odds in your favor. Use the right type of rod action, a quality spinning reel and drag, and employ a technique called “back-reeling.”

There are many reasons back-reeling makes sense.
