the fish that was hit with 186 kHz so the picture on the screen won’t have all that noise and clutter that made the blob out of the two fish. There will be two separate fish on the screen reducing the amount of noise or clutter between the fish making them easier to distinguish.
That is basically what Chirp does. It will eliminate most of the noise and clutter that traditional sonar showed you before.
NOTE:
Something to be ready for is the description name change for your transducers. Instead of 50 kHz, 83 kHz and 200 kHz, the transducers will be low, medium and high Chirp. This name change is already in process so if you need a new transducer and you have a non-Chirp Lowrance head unit, the “ping” will still be sent out in 200 kHz, now called high for example.
QUESTION #3
I managed to put an SD card in my unit to record sonar data that had an old update file on it. The machine was
well into the software update before I realized it. Now it constantly reboots. Is there a way to return the unit to the original software as in the way it was programmed out of the box? Or did I
mess it up good and
need to send it in?
ANSWER #3
Do a hard reset
on the unit. This
will reset the unit
to the original
factory settings.
This will erase all
you waypoints, trails and data saved on the unit. Press and hold the + and – buttons (Zin and Zout). Now hit the power button and release the power button while continuing to press the + and – buttons until the unit completes the boot up.
OTHER LOWRANCE MYSTERIES?
When you have questions of your own, be sure to start a new thread on the Lowrance Forum on this web site and ask. I will be along shortly to answer your question and all the people who read that forum will benefit from that one answer.
You can also send me a personal message on this web site or through my personal web site, http:// kensbassfishing.weebly.com/ .
If you have a commonly asked question and you would like to see Lowrance make a video of. I can’t guarantee that it will be added to the list, but the input may very well get it done.
God Bless you all and good fishing.
