Lew’s bolsters spinning reel lineup with two new high-speed series

Lew’s steps up its spinning reel offering for 2014 with two all- new and high quality series - The Tournament HS (High Speed) Speed Spin ® and the Team Lew’s Gold Spin.

Tournament HS reels sport a premium 10 stainless steel bearing system and a lightweight but strong graphite body. Spools are double anodized aluminum and ported, and feature a parallel line-lay oscillation system. Graphite rotors are digi-balanced; bails are lightweight hollow stainless steel. An oversized aluminum line roller helps reduce line twist. All reels have a super smooth carbon Teflon multi-disc sealed drag system.

The Tournament HS series consists of four models: TS100H, weighing 6.9 oz. and holding 150 yards/6-lb. test; TS200H, at 8.3 oz. and holding 140 yards/8-lb.; TS300H, at 8.4 oz. and hold- ing 140 yards/10-lb.; and TS400H, at 9.6 oz. and holding 160 yards/12-lb. Line retrieves vary by model size, ranging from 25 IPT for the smallest, to 38 IPT for the largest. All models come with a rubber arbor spool adapter for use with braid.

Tournament HS reels are sharp-looking with their black body and rotor, and silver accents. Each model retails for around $79.99.

Team Lew’s Gold Spin high-speed series reels feature premium 10 stainless steel ball bearing systems, and lightweight, high- strength carbon C40 bodies and side covers, with sealed-body engineering.

Sealed engineering affords special protection to select ball bearings in critical locations, the Zero-Reverse one-way clutch bearing and the carbon Teflon multi-disc drag system.

Additional weight reduction comes from Team Lew’s spinning reels having double anodized aluminum spools with carbon graphite inserts, hollow stainless steel bail wires, an aircraft grade aluminum main shaft and machine cut aluminum handle.

There are four models in the series: TL1000H, holding 150 yards/6 lb. and weighing 6.3 ounces; TL2000H, holding 140 yards/8 lb. and weighing 7.3 ounces; TL3000, holding 140 yards/10 lb. and weighing 7.4 ounces; and TL4000, holding 160 yards/12 lb. and weighing 8.5 ounces. Retrieve ratios vary by size, ranging from 25 IPT to 38 IPT.

All models feature digi-balanced graphite rotors and a parallel line-lay oscillation system. Oversized titanium line rollers help reduce line twist. External screws are stainless steel. An external lube port affords servicing convenience. Each reel comes with a rubber arbor adapter for use with braid.

Team Lew’s Gold Spin spinning reels retail for around $129.99 each.

Both new series of reels, Tournament HS and Team Lew’s Gold, feature components suited for saltwater, as well as fresh.
