get each part of the lake; i wanted to cover as much as possible in practice to make sure that i could put myself in areas with the potential to win. My first stop was Honey Creek. i had seen that KVd and Hank Cherry caught some fish there, but i couldn’t get anything of any size and i wasn’t too excited with it. The water was dingy and i just didn’t fall in love with the area. i felt scatterbrained with so much to see and so little time; so i just went fishing. i got some fish targeting shallow pockets, flippin’ jigs on isolated brush and with a rattlin’ rogue on secondary points leading into coves and creek arms. i felt it was a solid pattern. That is where all the fish that i weighed came out of. i had a mediocre day with 18-lbs, not a bag by any stretch. My co got a five behind me. i was in 9th place and was really frustrated. i didn’t know how that would hold up, but it’s one of those things where you never really feel out and you never really feel in. That is the game we play when we’re fishing. i thought, i could have a chance, but i would have to improve. i knew with the weather, the
