For the glide, when they’re spawning on the points and humps, don’t be afraid to rotate the areas. Once you catch one or two or three, the school may slide away, but they will come back 20 or 30 minutes later, so you should too.

WB: What is your gear for the lures you throw?

Edgar: I like to fish the spoon on an IROD Quercus Bailey Swim – an 8’ medium-heavy rod that’s rated from 1 to 4-ounces. For the glide, I like the IROD Air Bailey Swim – a 7’10” heavy- action rod. I have a Shimano TranX 300 7.6:1 with 25-pound P-Line CXX for both.

If someone wanted one budget-friendly rod for both, I would suggest an IROD GEN III Bailey Swim.
