HABITAT
The lake invested a great deal of resources building fish habitat. Structure such as the rock piles and tire reefs that Wynn mentioned were introduced during the dam’s construction and the lake’s south shore and the backside of the island are now loaded with newly constructed structure.
“I used my Navionics Regions West card and the SonarChartLive feature on my Lowrance Live units to make live maps of the new structure” Wynn said. “It is amazing how many fish area already relating to the newly flooded
cover and fish habitat.”
The recent
rise in
water levels has added much fish holding structure in shallow water. Anglers can target these areas, finding success with an array of reaction baits and soft plastics.

“Perris is full of baitfish,” said Wynn. “These baitfish make up the bulk of a bass’s diet.”
