As swimbait fishing has evolved, more and more styles and actions are created to do the same thing basically: imitate a large baitfish or trout and appealing to big bass. With so many types on the market, knowing which one to throw depends on the conditions, depth, and season.

MADNESS JAPAN BALAM 300

The Balam 300 is a sizeable jointed swimbait. It is nearly a foot long and weighs around six-ounces. It has four joints to give it a fantastic swimming action. The real key with this bait is how it can be fished at just about any speed and still run true without rolling.

The biggest factor for deciding when to choose the Balam 300 is the forage the bass are focused on. Due to the size, they are best when bass are eating large, slender prey like trout, pikeminnow, or even small bass.

There are several conditions where this bait comes into play, and since it can be fished effectively at any speed, it works in a wide range of water temperatures. Since it is a slow sink bait, it can also be fished at nearly any depth.
