ayak fishing has been growing in popularity over the past few years and 2019 will be no exception. The

for you. We interviewed two anglers who have recently made the move and experienced success early on.

QUIZON

Gino Quizon of San Diego, Calif. has been kayak fishing for two years and just completed his first tournament season.

He fished the So Cal Kayak Anglers circuit, Kayak Bass Fishing (KBF) Trail Series, and KBF Open events. He accumulated multiple top- 10 finishes, including first place in two KBF Trail Series events and a sixth-place finish in the KBF Open event on Clear Lake that qualified him to fish in the 2019 KBF National Championship.

ENSIGN

Mike Ensign of South Lake Tahoe, Calif. has been kayak fishing for more than 10 years and just completed his second season.

Ensign fished the Yak-A-Bass Series where he accumulated multiple top-10 finishes and finished third in the Angler of the Year (AOY) race. He scored a top-10 finish at the 2018 Shasta Bass Kayak Classic. He also finished third place at the KBF Open on Clear Lake that qualified him for the 2019 KBF National Championship.
