Questions and Answers to Make Electronics Easier
EXPOSED
As I sit down to write another article about the questions I get and respond to, I want to revisit a question in my Lowrance article for the fall 2016 issue in WesternBass Magazine.
Having dealt with the Point One GPS antenna more and finding some guys still a little frustrated trying to understand what the GPS is doing when you have a magnetic heading sensor that precisely points the boat cursor in the direction of travel, I realize that there is more to explain and I have a small fix for some of the confusion guys are experiencing.
In the previous article, I talked about the wind blowing you off a Waypoint and how the Point One will rotate the map (because the direction of travel changed 180 degrees due to the wind). I have a simple change to your Chart orientation setting in the Menu that can help you.
LET’S SET UP THE SCENARIO
Let’s say you pull up to a Waypoint that is off shore and the wind is blowing. You head into the wind as you approach the Waypoint; so while you are fishing you will be able to control the boat’s position.
