I
n 2006, Jason Borofka of Salinas, Calif.
launched on to the FLW Outdoor tournament
scene with an All American Series Champion-
ship held on Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala. Although the event felt a world away for the
California angler, he put his first cross country
FLW championship event to rest with an 8th in
the standings. His finish
earned him a spot as one
of the first pro qualifiers for
the 2007 $2 million Forrest
Wood Cup in Hot Springs,
Ark., where he fished his
way to 14th.
Over the next seven years, Borofka knocked out another six top-10’s in FLW events, including his most recent in Feb. 2014 at Lake Havasu in Arizona, where he claimed the runner-up position.
Although he lives and works in the Golden State, Borofka’s tournaments have taken him out of his home state to areas that he has had little to no experience
