WB: Was your move to Alabama purely financial for the Series? And if so, would you move back?

LOBERG: Yes, being out in Alabama – travel time and cost of living; but also, being able to fish other tournaments and being out in the mix here is a big deal. Obviously, I would love to move back out West, but for the foreseeable future it’s here. My passion is tournaments. I fish as many as I can every year and that is what I’ve set my goal to be.

WB: Having been a college angler, how did you feel about no western anglers making the list of the best college anglers?

LOBERG: Its definitely tough. A lot of the guys out here cannot make the trek East to fish those championships We did. But being able to pack up and drive three days to a National championship and competing against those guys is definitely a task.

WB: What’s your thoughts on furthering the sport for college guys at this point?

LOBERG: The guys don’t really have that opportunity anymore. The exposure that we got when I was in Chico was very beneficial for sponsors and making connections;

basically have zero money.

but not that Major League Fishing and B.A.S.S. stopped going out West for college anglers, there really isn’t a path and that bridge got torn down, which is a bummer. That is one of the biggest things; because sponsorships for college is very, very crucial – being in college you

WB: What’s your recommendation for the guys thinking about making the leap to pro angler?

LOBERG: Definitely travel. It’s far to get Texas, Alabama, Georgia and Florida and stuff; but if you want to fish on a national tour, learning those lakes a very key.

WB: Looking to the future, as far as the fishing career goes, do you want fortune or fame?

LOBERG: For sure fortune.
