not going to be successful. Finding a finesse bait you have confidence in is key. Mine happens to be the Neko Rig. It has been really good for me. I fish it on 6- to 8-pound-test with a 1/8-oz nail weight, for a slower fall. Letting that bait fall slowly and not shoot to the bottom is key.

My number one bait for the Neko Rig is a 7-inch Roboworm. I like the VMC size 2 Neko hook. The hook has made all the difference in securing the hookup. As far as locating fish, try to find areas offshore like rock piles, ditches, ends of points and outside edges of grass lines. Hands down, offshore rock piles have been

super-effective for me. I search for rock piles in the 15- to 25-foot range, for best success.

It was a pleasure speaking with Shane and here a few takeaways that I gained. Ultimately, you have to fish the waters and conditions in front of you.
