twitching the bait during the retrieve, you can entice those fish to strike.

CONDITIONS: One great thing about this bait is that it will catch in almost every weather condition. As long as the water is clear, this bait will produce bites. Also, a glide bait tends to catch bigger than average fish; so, you better be prepared to catch some giants!

CASTS AND RETRIEVES: It’s important for you to spend some time learning how the bait reacts to your particular retrieve and cadence. Once you dial in what the bass want, this bait is one of the most fun baits to throw. In clear water, you can actually see the bait from a long way out and most of the time, you can see the fish following the bait too. Again, the strikes in the fall can be violent; so throwing this bait lends itself to some of the most exciting fishing there is.

GEAR: I like to throw my glide baits on a 13 Fishing Omen black cranking rod paired with a Concept A3 reel. I use 15- to 18-pound fluorocarbon when throwing the 200 and 12-to 15-pound when throwing the 168. I switch from the umbrella rig to the glide bait throughout the day, depending on weather and depth of the water.

Both baits are going to be productive, if you take the time to learn them. There is a lot more to each bait then just chuck and wind. So, take some time to learn these baits and use them during your offshore fishing. I guarantee you are going to catch bigger and better fish and have a great time doing it. •
