O

ver the past three seasons, Arizona angler,

Tai Au of Glendale has made a mark on the

western competitive bass fishing scene. In the past trio of years, Au’s combined paydays have netted

just under $100,000.

During those same years, Au reached a longtime

goal of double Angler of the Year trophies as a pro and

as a team partner. He claimed the Pro angler AOY in the

2017 season of the Wild West Bass Trail (WWBT) and the

Team AOY, in the 2018 WWBT Arizona Teams trail with his

partner Daniel Elias.

Competing with different partners, Au also earned

the “W” in two other team events this season. Paired with

fellow Arizona pro, Joe Uribe Jr., the partners took down

the Bass Junkyz 88-team field at Lake Pleasant in April of

this year.
