not to be in the giant schools of bait. I try to get away from it.

For winter, you’ve got to cover all water columns – shallow, middle and deep. Even in the winter, if you get any type warming, they can move up super-shallow. Overall in the winter, is best to slow down and use small, small worms.

For spring, the best key is to successful fishing is when there has been a few days of stable weather. If the weather doesn’t cooperate with stability, you have to go out and find something deeper. You can always go a little deeper.

Summer can be some of the best fishing for quantity. Like right now (July), I was just fishing with three other guys and we caught 270 bass (between two and five-pounds) in two days. It’s been pretty good. I don’t think you could wet a line right now and not get bit; but I like to fish 20- to 30-feet in the summer. Once you find ‘em, they’re really schooled up. We sat on one spot and caught 71 fish yesterday.

Q: What is one thing about Wayne Breazeale that we don’t know?

A: I would rather duck hunt than fish. I love to duck hunt. I duck hunt about 40 days a year.

Q: Tell us one thing about Clear Lake that we should know.

A: It is an incredible lake and it’s only going to get better.

The fish that we’re catching right now, (the two to five-pounders that I was talking about) they’re only going to keep growing.

There is so much bait in the lake, so much food for them, they’re growing at a high rate and unless there is a big die-off or something that happens, the size of those fish in three years is going to be incredible.

It will be fishing even more incredible than it is now, and its fishing really good now.
