Breazeale racked up another first-place finish in April 2017 at the WWBT Pro/Am with a wire-to-wire win and

returned in May 2017

to

successfully defended his WON Bass Open title, with another wire-to-wire win, becoming the first-ever, back-to-back California Open champ.

The triumphant run has been quite a feat and leaves us asking … hmmm…. Who is Wayne Breazeale,

what does he know about

Clear Lake that we don’t

and what has

2016 WWBT California Teams Championship - WWBT

made him the King of Clear Lake.

We got the deets with 10 Questions for Breazeale.

Q: How long have you

been and how often do you

fish Clear Lake?

A: I moved here

permanently when I was 12; but we had a summer home up here before that. I’ve been fishing for about 40 years and I spend about 60 days or less on the water. I probably fish here a lot less than everyone thinks I do. I like to ocean fish more than anything – salmon, tuna, striper, halibut – all that stuff. My grandfather’s the one that taught me how to fish. He had a big boat out in the ocean and took me from age two to 17. That’s how I learned to fish.
