his year, the Wild West Bass Trail

(WWBT) took the west coast

bass fishing scene by storm,

offering the first exclusive west coast tournament series to be televised in

its entirety and 100 percent paybacks to

the western anglers.

The WWBT wrapped up its freshman

year with record turnouts in California,

boasting an average of 100 boats for Pro/

Ams and an average of 96 boats for team

events – an unheard of feat in current

times.

As the circuit prepared for its second

season, they did what they do best – gave

the anglers what they want, preparing an

angler questionnaire (in the spirit of

a “comment card”)

asking

to hear the thoughts of all anglers that participated during 2016.

The Wild West took the angler’s suggestions to heart and have developed some angler-initiated changes for 2017.

WesternBass sat down with Gary Dobyns to get the lowdown on what’s new for the new year.

WB: Issuing the angler questionnaire offered the WWBT a chance for a lot of feedback. What are the changes that came out of that?

DOBYNS: We learned with overwhelming popularity, the anglers wanted
