lungs. With love, prayer, and tremendous outpouring of community support, Eric is now on a miraculous road to recovery. The outpouring of community support was especially moving to the Elshere family, and demonstrates the character of SoCal anglers.
PROTECTION ADJUSTMENTS
In closing, the above story illustrates another important adjustment everyone in SoCal needs to make; using sun screen and wearing protective clothing. Melanoma is deadly, and the leading cancer. I developed melanoma myself (and thankfully have recovered), as have other anglers in SoCal. While beautiful and abundant, solar radiation exposure is like exposing yourself to extensive X-rays. I don’t care how stylish I look on the water, I wear sun protection head to toe. It is a small price to pay to enjoy fishing in SoCal! Ciao!
