with yet. two patents, one on the flat eye camming surface design and the other on the dual, split appendages. it’s hard to describe in plain words, you really have to see it and fish it for yourself. Five plus years of work Bo put into the head alone; so many people are astonished by the amount of physics behind this lure. one man, a professor at University of Missouri, Kansas City was so impressed he taught an entire class on the engineering and physics of this jig. Wish my university offered a course like that. So much technology in one jig head, Nutech lures closely guards the secrets of their company’s products such as the material of the guide arms, and the weight distribution throughout the head. Not only is the head unique, but the hook is too. Bo was one of the first people to design a combination hook; a 5/0 hook with a 3/0 hook barb. everyone wants to go with bigger hooks; however, if the hook works properly in the first place, you don’t need to use an oversized one. NuJig’s hook will hook your fish in the top of the mouth every time. You ask how? it’s all in the physics. on a round bend hook, such as the ones on NuJig’s, the pull line is far from the barb, making it harder for the fish to dislodge the hook compared to an extra wide gab hook the pull line is directly under the barb allowing the fish to get off because as the fish pulls, the tension pulls the hook right out of the fishes mouth. NuJig also has a horizontal eyelet, which allows for more leverage, because the pull line is on top of the ring; whereas, with a vertical eyelet you lose leverage as the pull line is in the middle of the ring. NuJig’s technology

forces the NuJig to travel and hook into fish at an arc, so when de-hooking fish, you have to pull out at an angle or bend, not in a straight motion. This happened to me, and it just proved to me how well the fish were getting hooked by this jig. With the cam head technology, the jig head always stands straight. even when pulling through cover, the cam heads are designed such that whatever comes in contact with the head makes it self correct and turn straight on its axis. The solid dual separated guide arms along with the unique head make the jig weedless. You can manipulate the appendages however you chose; make them shorter, more linear, pulling them further away from the hook makes the jig more weedless without affecting the hook or your hook-sets. depending on the situation, you can fish this jig and be successful while never losing it due to snags. The only way to lose a NuJig is due to line and/or knot mishaps. Bo prefers a unique uni-knot he came up with in the ‘60s. it’s basically a uni-knot, but he doubles the line. This knot also makes an easy way to use the Nutech jig head as a drop shot set up… are your wheels spinning yet?

it has been engrained in our minds that we need a different jig for every situation - a jig for swimming
