The detail on the arms looks like it will have good action. i also liked the ribbon tail and the keel on the belly to keep the nose up and keep it swimming out of the surface.” The MadMouse is touted by evolve to be a “buzz mouse” and to look just like a mouse swimming the surface with legs that cannot tangle. The belly features a large hook slot for an easy hook set.
The live target Frog Popper was the show’s winner in this category. Brinks best for the choice of terminal tackle was the ZaPPU abare dama or “Wicked Ball” crankbait hook attachment. “When you add the ZaPPU Wicked Ball to a crankbait it allows for the bait to dart and move randomly,” remarked Brinks. “This is a coil spring with a tungsten ball. You put it on your rear treble hook. The weight of the ball causes the crankbait to deflect without hitting cover. it is going to increase the erratic presentation in an random way. You can really add it to anything with a treble hook - a lipless, a squarebill, a dd22. This is a really cool concept that originated in Japan.” in Japanese, the name abare dama translates to wicked ball and ZaPPU expects this tungsten ball to provoke a wicked bite The ball screws on the shaft of the treble.
