over. take apart your injector nozzle and pick out the excess plastic that was left remaining.

When adding your flake make sure you measure the amount so the same process can be repeated as well. after you have mixed your favorite recipe you may need to reheat the plastic one more time so that it can either be poured or injected with ease. remember 30 second increments. if you have to stop midstream while making baits, it’s not a problem. Just reheat by using the following steps i explained earlier and get back at it! if you are pouring stick baits and adding salt to your plastic you will need to add more droplets (up to 50) to get the desired color that you’re looking for. i like to take my stick baits and see how they fall in the pool and compare them with the leading stick bait manufacturers. remember to write down how much salt you use as this will significantly alter the drop rate of your baits.

While you are injecting your plastic into the mold it is important to slowly apply pressure and keep the pressure held into the mold for about 15 seconds. This will make sure that all the plastic has successfully seeped into all the appendages of your mold. When removing your injector tip from the mold make sure you do it slowly because sometimes the plastic will squirt out in different directions leading to injury.

After you have let the plastic set up for about 45 seconds to a 1 minute you can start the process all

take your baits out

them cool on a flat

plastic looking at this picture(Brush hog) remember this plastic is still setting up and should really stay on the table for 12 hours to ensure proper action of the bait when it’s time to use it on the water..

After your baits have set up overnight simply place into a poly bag with your favorite scent and throw them in the boat.

if i have bags of baits that i have bought from the tackle shop, i will save those and throw my hand pours or injection baits in those as well.

Making your own baits is a great hobby and can be done with minimal expense! if you have any questions when starting this procedure feel free to reach me on my website at www.andymanahl.com.
