types, from the California Delta largemouth to Lake Oroville Spots.

Is this a technique that will win tournaments? Probably not, when the fish are aggressive and biting well. Is it a technique that puts fish in the boat during even the most difficult bite and under the worst of conditions? So far it seems to be a formula that I can count on when I really need to catch some fish. Are there times when it just won’t work at all? Probably. But so far, I haven’t come across a difficult situation where I couldn’t at least get a few bites doing it. What makes the Flick-Shake so productive? I wish I knew. My theory is simply that this is a relatively new technique that is showing fish bait with a different look and action than they’ve seen before. I am sure as the technique catches on, it will probably go into the toolbox as just another way to catch those finicky bass.

So what’s your “confidence” technique? Next time you find yourself out on the water struggling for a bite, tie on a Flick-Shake and give it a twitch. See if it doesn’t just become your new “Confidence” bait.

Good fishing and be safe and courteous on the water.
