an excellent, low-friction seal for a rotating shaft.

To produce a low-friction seal that keeps the elements from entering the reel’s rotor bearing and gearing, magnetic oil is con- trolled by a magnetic field. The result is a water-tight seal with much lower friction than rubber type seals—the same technology used in space engineering.
