ICE ROD STRIKE INDICATOR SYSTEM – HOW IT WORKS:
St. Croix’s strike indicator system is adjustable, so its sensitivity level can accommodate different lure sizes. To make the bobber more sensitive, push the spring forward through the grommet. To make it less sensitive, push it back. (illustration no. 1)

St. Croix’s Legend Gold and Silver ice rods feature a patented built-in strike indicator system developed by Greg “The Prowler” Wilczynski. A medalist in world ice fishing competitions, Greg spent years refining his invention. The super-finesse coil spring is much more sensitive than any other type of indicator. It allows ice anglers to see the most subtle bump or strike well before it can be felt.

The system is most sensitive when there is a 30-degree bend (position 2) in the spring. To find the bottom, lower the jig until the indicator returns to position 1. Then, either slowly reel up once or lift the rod slightly until the indicator is back to position 2. (illustration no. 2)
