About Power and Action

Power We define power as the strength required to move a fish. Each of our series of rods is created with various blends of materials and rated to describe its appropriate power. The power for each rod is determined by analyzing its application, environmental conditions and fighting style.

Action The action of a rod describes where it flexes both during the cast and on the retrieve. The action, in combination with materials and components, determines a rod’s performance. A rod with an Extra Fast action flexes closest to the tip. As the action descends from Extra Fast to Slow, the flex descends through the rod blank towards the butt. The design of each action is customized to a particular fishing application. We take into consideration such variables as angler preferences, personal styles and the presentation and performance of lures on both the delivery and in the retrieve. These variables can be optimized when the proper action is combined with the proper lure selection.
